Lincoln Property Company Launches New Coaching Initiative

Lincoln Property Company is excited to announce its newest initiative from the Learning and Talent Development department: coaching. This 2018 program has been created to maximize the learning team’s resources while providing more one-on-one training to its 3,500 residential associates.

To build a foundation for this culture shift, Krista Washbourne, VP of Learning and Talent Development for Lincoln Property Company, created a new role of a Certified Coach within their national learning team.

Kristyn Ramsey, National Learning and Talent Development Manager, stepped into this role and has received her Extraordinary Coaching Certification from Zenger Folkman.

“Coaching puts into practical, tangible operation a large number of the principles of great leadership. It, more than any other skill or management technique that is commonly taught in a leadership development program, changes the culture. It alters the tone and creates a healthier atmosphere in the organization. People are being treated with more respect. They are being asked and not told,” Dr. Jack Zenger and Joe Folkman said.

Ramsey’s goal is to keep Lincoln on the leading edge of adult learning science and professional development by equipping our leaders with the tools that will encourage opportunities for coaching and guidance.

“Being the second largest management company in the nation, we rely on our associates to wear many hats. Creating a culture where coaching is the norm affords our associates opportunities to grow both personally and professionally, regardless of their position. This goes back to us putting our employees first. We are a company for its growth and success.” Ramsey will start the company-wide initiative, training the leadership roles across all departments.

The Zenger Folkman Model uses the FUEL Model, standing for framework, understanding, exploring solutions, and laying out a plan.

Kristyn adds, “In creating a coaching culture, we equip our leaders and work within our strengths. We will look back and see our associates flourishing, growing, and becoming exceptional leaders because they know they are valued and worth the investment.”
